Who Is This Guy Anyway
Michael Boyd is currently the Director of Instruction at The Club at Indian Springs. He has a passion for seeing people enjoy the game of golf at all levels. His extensive playing career started in High School when he was a 1st and 2nd Team AJGA All American. While at the University of Tulsa, Michael was ranked inside the top 10 Amateurs in the country from 1996-1998, reaching #1 in 1997. After college, he played the mini-tours for 8 years before becoming a PGA Tour member for the 2007 season.
Michael has been lucky enough to have played and studied the game with and around some of the best players and teachers in the world. Being a curious sort, who asks incessant questions, he was able to glean a good amount of information along the way. Since retiring from playing at the end of 2008 he has enjoyed passing those experiences and the knowledge on to all his students. Currently he uses video swing analysis with V1 software, Trackman, and BodiTrack to better understand the important motions of the golf swing needed to produce the desired ball flight. He utilizes the Tucker Short Game assessment and encourages stat tracking through Shot By Shot to help his students maximize their performance.
Mr. Boyd graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1998 with a degree in Psychology and has since become Performance Intelligence Certified through Julie Bell and Mind of a Champion. He also utilizes a mental training profile to better help understand his student’s minds and performance.
When he is not inspiring the world one golfer at a time he is a husband to Jamie and a father to 3 wonderfully handsome and beautiful children (because they get their looks from their mom). Today he hopes to trust Jesus more than he did yesterday, which may not be that big of a feat, but at least he is trying.
Feel free to contact him, he is an extreme extrovert and would welcome another opportunity to talk to someone.
